Spectators: 7410 (Terracing: 6000, Seating: 1360, VIP seats: 50) Chatham FC's Gerard Henderson started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 6 minutes into the game, Jerry Ning lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Hafriz Phua. Jerry Ning scored 2-0 in the 11th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hafriz Phua, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 15 minutes into the game, Faiz Dyce recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Hafriz Phua. Faiz Dyce showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. Faiz Dyce fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hafriz Phua having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gerard Henderson in the 26th minute of play forced SouthSingapore's goalkeeper Wong Wah to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 28 minutes into the game, Firdauz Lee was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SouthSingapore's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chatham FC the free kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 27th minute of the game. One of SouthSingapore:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Chatham FC:s goal. Chatham FC's Hafriz Phua proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Chatham FC from getting a goal against them. After 36 played minutes Chatham FC got a freekick which was hit by Faiz Seah. The audience thought a goal was coming when Danial Koh got free with Hafriz Phua in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The crowd rose to their feet as Faiz Dyce kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Hafriz Phua. That made the score 5-1 in the 42 minute of play. Hafriz Phua showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jerry Ning, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Jerry Ning fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hafriz Phua having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Hafriz Phua showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Danial Koh, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Faiz Seah might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Wong Wah. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Faiz Seah ran back to his position shaking his head. Hafriz Phua showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Faiz Dyce in the 67th minute of the match. The referee gave SouthSingapore a penalty, 71 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Faiz Dyce, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Chatham FC's Hafriz Phua. 6-1. Hafriz Phua took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jerry Ning, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 76 minutes into the match, Jerry Ning had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hafriz Phua. Chatham FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jerry Ning was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-1. Danial Koh recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hafriz Phua showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Faiz Dyce in the 83rd minute of the match. Faiz Seah could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Wong Wah made a huge save. SouthSingapore were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Chatham FC for a fine match.
