Ron Choy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sharizan Hoe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gerard Ning couldn't finish the play. 18 minutes into the match, Astley's goal looked a bit too open when Daniz Ning came free, but Joel Seng reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sharizan Hoe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Ron Choy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 23 minutes into the game, Noh Devan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Astley's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tekong Blues Dragons the free kick. Noh Devan kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. The supporters of Tekong Blues Dragons booed when Astley was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Noh Devan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Joel Seng made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gerard Ning in the 26th minute of play. 26 minutes into the game, Zak Ning was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Astley's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tekong Blues Dragons the free kick. After a rather tough play, Astley's Zak Ning got a free kick in the 26th minute. A hard shot 43 in the game by Faiz Choy from a close distance when the talented Ron Choy managed to make a qualified save. Tekong Blues Dragons's players were relieved. After a defensive mix-up in Tekong Blues Dragons's zone, Zak Ning stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ron Choy came out of the goal and Zak Ning tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 47 minutes, Faiz Choy made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. Tekong Blues Dragons's Ron Choy tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sharizan Hoe stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 58 played minutes Tekong Blues Dragons got a freekick which was hit by Zack Chee. Faiz Choy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 61 minutes of play, Astley's Sharizan Hoe made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Joel Seng showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gerard Ning, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Lamar Sum managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tekong Blues Dragons's supporters rose to their feet, but Lamar Sum was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joel Seng breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Daniz Ning came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Tekong Blues Dragons fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniz Ning couldn't finish the play. In the 84th minute, Faizal Lim hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sharizan Hoe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 5-0 became the score in the 91st minute when Sharizan Hoe elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Ron Choy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sharizan Hoe in the 96th minute of the match. Zack Chee's late challenge caught a Astley's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Zack Chee helped the player get up and apologised. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sharizan Hoe in the 98th minute of play forced Tekong Blues Dragons's goalkeeper Ron Choy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Astley's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
