If Khairil Lee had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 8th match minute, Tekong Blues Dragons was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zack Chee to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Shahron Dhanabalan in the 12th minute of play forced Tekong Blues Dragons's goalkeeper Ron Choy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 21 minutes into the game, Khairil Cho was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Stannington AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tekong Blues Dragons the free kick. In the 21st match minute, Stannington AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Khairil Cho to maneuver through the defense. After 23 minutes, Joel Ramachandran mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tekong Blues Dragons and the Stannington AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 23rd minute, one of Tekong Blues Dragons:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Tekong Blues Dragons. The goalkeeper, Ron Choy, was totally fooled by Stannington AFC's Azly Ramachandran, who 25 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. 29 minutes into the match, Tekong Blues Dragons's goalkeeper Ron Choy had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Khairil Lee. Gerard Ning fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zafran Ching having to interfere. In the 40th minute, Shahron Dhanabalan fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Ron Choy, passed just outside the right post. In the 42nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Stannington AFC's goalkeeper Zafran Ching, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Shahron Dhanabalan was the one to do the kick off. Ron Choy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Shahron Dhanabalan in the 52nd minute of play. If Gerard Ning had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gerard Ning succeeded in the game's 60th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-1. Ron Choy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Khairil Lee in the 64th minute of the match. Zak Hee struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Ron Choy didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Stannington AFC. Khairil Lee fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ron Choy having to interfere. Tekong Blues Dragons's Ron Choy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Khairil Lee in the 70th minute of play. Khairil Lee received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Ron Choy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Shahron Dhanabalan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zack Chee kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. 78 minutes into the game, Stannington AFC's Khairil Lee nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ron Choy made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. After 81 played minutes Stannington AFC got a freekick which was hit by Nicholas Tan. Shahron Dhanabalan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 90 minutes into the match, Stannington AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Gerard Ning came free, but Zafran Ching reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpected shot in the 92nd minute by Daniz Ning got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Shahron Dhanabalan scored 4-1 in the 93rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ron Choy, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. For all the effort they put into the match, the Tekong Blues Dragons players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Stannington AFC.
