When Khairul Liang came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the Southwold fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Khairul Liang couldn't finish the play. 7 minutes into the game, Gerard Ning was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tekong Blues Dragons's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Southwold the free kick. In the 7th minute, Gerard Ning hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Khairul Liang fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ron Choy having to interfere. Ron Choy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Khairul Liang, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 14 minutes into the match, Tekong Blues Dragons's goal looked a bit too open when Bineesh Dyce came free, but Ron Choy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniz Ning's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 18thth minute, Sharizan Siang skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Iskandar Pillai fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ron Choy having to interfere. Bineesh Dyce received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Ron Choy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Iskandar Pillai during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Tekong Blues Dragons booed when Southwold was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iskandar Pillai didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 31st minute Iskandar Pillai shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ron Choy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Khairul Liang had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Daniz Ning could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Sharizan Siang made a huge save. Ron Choy didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Southwold. Sharizan Siang made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniz Ning in the 47th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

54 minutes into the match, Southwold's goal looked a bit too open when Gerard Ning came free, but Sharizan Siang reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Southwold's Khairul Liang was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 56th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Khairul Liang sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bineesh Dyce might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ron Choy. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bineesh Dyce ran back to his position shaking his head. Tekong Blues Dragons's Ron Choy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bineesh Dyce in the 60th minute of play. In the 63rd minute, Southwold's Iskandar Pillai ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ron Choy. Ron Choy yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. After 72 minutes, Joel Ramachandran mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tekong Blues Dragons and the Southwold players grew even worse after the yellow card. 71 minutes into the game, one of Tekong Blues Dragons:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Southwold a penalty, 73 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Ong Ching, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Tekong Blues Dragons's Ron Choy. 0-3. After having played for 84 minutes, Gerard Ning managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tekong Blues Dragons's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gerard Ning was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ong Ching hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. If Khairul Liang had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Khairul Liang might have been able to make a better finish in the 96th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ron Choy. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Khairul Liang ran back to his position shaking his head. When Bineesh Dyce in the 99th play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Ron Choy kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 0-4 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. The Tekong Blues Dragons fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Southwold were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
