Pondersbridge's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Luton AFC the free kick. Rifqi Gopala Pillai showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gerard Vijiaratnam, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Zak Dhanabalan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rifqi Gopala Pillai made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Afiq Gopala Pillai in the 28th minute of play. Rifqi Gopala Pillai didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Afiq Gopala Pillai went, in the 29th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Afiz Leng stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Wei Xuan Dryburgh's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. Albert Hongyi charged in rather forcefully in the 39th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Albert Hongyi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Albert Hongyi hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lee Lee in the 40th minute of play forced Pondersbridge's goalkeeper Rifqi Gopala Pillai to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Afiq Gopala Pillai had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Namasivayam was the one to do the kick off. Daniel Namasivayam recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Afiz Leng showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wei Xuan Dryburgh in the 57th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Afiq Gopala Pillai got free with Rifqi Gopala Pillai in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mark Rajah charged in rather forcefully in the 61st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mark Rajah the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 61 played minutes Pondersbridge got a freekick which was hit by Mark Rajah. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lee Lee in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rifqi Gopala Pillai saved Pondersbridge from getting behind. Wei Xuan Dryburgh's late challenge caught a Luton AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Wei Xuan Dryburgh helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Pondersbridge's Wei Xuan Dryburgh got a free kick in the 64th minute. Lee Lee sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match had gone on for 67 minutes, Lee Lee took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Rifqi Gopala Pillai to make any attempt to save it. Rifqi Gopala Pillai made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Afiq Gopala Pillai sent off a good shot on target. 73 minutes in the game, Afiq Gopala Pillai fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Rifqi Gopala Pillai having to interfere. In the 74th match minute, Pondersbridge was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adam Politiek to maneuver through the defense. Pondersbridge's Zak Dhanabalan got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Wei Xuan Dryburgh recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Pondersbridge's Daniel Namasivayam got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 95 minutes, Zak Dhanabalan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pondersbridge's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zak Dhanabalan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Pondersbridge lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
