The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Rifki Chew showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bryan Hsin in the 6th minute of the match. Zak Swee was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Mujahid Soon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 23 minutes of play, Cars Are Expensive's Nicholas Seng made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rifki Chew was left in no man's land by his defense there! Bryan Kool scored 1-2 in the 26th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rifki Chew, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bryan Kool in the 32nd minute of play forced Whitby's goalkeeper Rifki Chew to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 34 minutes into the match, Whitby's Mujahid Soon sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Zak Swee narrowly saved just below the crossbar. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bryan Hsin to strike the kick off in the second half. A sloppy throw-in by Didi Hsi in the 52nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Whitby's Khai Ching. Bryan Hsin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Rifki Chew made a huge save. Zak Swee showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mujahid Soon, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Rifki Chew made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bryan Hsin in the 70th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bryan Kool in the 72nd minute of play forced Whitby's goalkeeper Rifki Chew to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Mujahid Soon came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Whitby fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mujahid Soon couldn't finish the play. Ali Abdul scored 2-2 in the 83rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Zak Swee, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 90 minutes into the match, Mujahid Soon had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Zak Swee. Cars Are Expensive's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mujahid Soon was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. The Whitby support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
