Spectators: 8099 (Terracing: 6076, Seating: 1862, VIP seats: 161) Standish AFC's Muhammad Hoe started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Sean Liang took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Azam Pillai, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Azam Pillai fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sean Liang having to interfere. Sajeev Chai showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Muhammad Hoe in the 25th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sajeev Chee in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sean Liang prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Standish AFC getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Afiq Seah hit a great ball. 32 minutes into the match, Standish AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Sajeev Chee came free, but Sean Liang reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Amirul Namasivayam in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. In the 66th minute, Rifki Seah ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sajeev Chai was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Sajeev Chai made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rifki Seah in the 75th minute of play. When Clive Ning fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Standish AFC's protests and gave Clive Ning a yellow card for diving instead. In the 75th match minute, Standish AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Clive Ning to maneuver through the defense. In the 79th minute Muhammad Hoe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sajeev Chai saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 89th minute of the match, Amirul Namasivayam tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Sean Liang saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 93rd minute, Sajeev Chee reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Sean Liang. The goal made the score 1-5. Sean Liang showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amirul Namasivayam, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. When the final whistle sounded Ashburton AFC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Standish AFC.
