Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Standish AFC's Muhammad Hoe started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With an all-out effort, Derby's Sean Liang threw himself towards the right post 3 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Khairul Lee, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Dale Nagasaki kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. Khairul Lee sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 10th minute, Derby's Khairul Lee dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. In the 13th match minute, Derby was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sean Liang to maneuver through the defense. When Standish AFC's Rifki Seah, in the 14th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Standish AFC. In the 21st minute, Clive Ning hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 22ndth minute of the game Khairul Lee who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Standish AFC's Sean Liang was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Alam Phua took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Muhammad Hoe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Standish AFC's Muhammad Hoe got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 30 minutes in the game, Rifqi Hongyi fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Sean Liang having to interfere. When Anil Koh fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Standish AFC's protests and gave Anil Koh a yellow card for diving instead. Anil Koh hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. In the 32nd minute of the match Darryl Lim sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sean Liang skillfully saved the ball. Sean Liang didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 33rd minute, which inside left pole to 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Khairul Lee in the 38th minute of play forced Standish AFC's goalkeeper Sean Liang to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 45 minutes into the game, Derby's Rifqi Hongyi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sean Liang made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Khairul Lee to strike the kick off in the second half. Sean Liang took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rifqi Hongyi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Khairul Lee in the 61st minute of play forced Standish AFC's goalkeeper Sean Liang to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 63rd minute Khairul Lee shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sean Liang saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 71 minutes, Khairul Lee managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Derby's supporters crossed their fingers, but Khairul Lee was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Khairul Lee had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Khairul Lee might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sean Liang. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Khairul Lee ran back to his position shaking his head. Anil Koh got his second yellow card in the match during the 80th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After a rather tough play, Standish AFC's Anil Koh got a free kick in the 80th minute. After recieving a nice pass, Derby's Darryl Lim tried to score from far away in the 81st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Khairul Lee in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sean Liang saved Standish AFC from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Clive Ning during the 86th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 86th minute, Clive Ning hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Standish AFC defense, Khairul Lee kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sean Liang. The Standish AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sean Liang should have stopped the shot. Derby walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
