Spectators: 8012 (Terracing: 6011, Seating: 1842, VIP seats: 159) Sean Phua made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when Rifki Seah sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Standish AFC's zone, Sean Lee stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sean Liang came out of the goal and Sean Lee tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rifki Seah got free with Sean Phua in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Shahron Pillai in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sean Liang saved Standish AFC from getting behind. In the 11th minute, Asiz Ning left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Standish AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. 13 minutes into the match, Codicote United's goalkeeper Sean Phua had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rifki Seah. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Anil Pillai in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sean Liang prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 17 minutes, Sean Lee managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Codicote United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sean Lee was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 19th minute, Anil Pillai left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Codicote United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. 22 minutes into the game, Asiz Ning was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Standish AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Codicote United the free kick. A collision led to Standish AFC getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Asiz Ning hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Standish AFC's zone, Shahron Pillai stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sean Liang came out of the goal and Shahron Pillai tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Sean Lee had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Shahron Pillai fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sean Liang having to interfere. Sean Liang took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sean Lee, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sean Phua showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anil Koh, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Clive Ning in the 32nd minute of play forced Codicote United's goalkeeper Sean Phua to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Anil Pillai managed to get in a good position for a shot. Codicote United's supporters rose to their feet, but Anil Pillai was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sean Liang breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sean Liang made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sean Lee in the 35th minute of play. After 36th play minutes Anil Pillai shot 1-2, a short shot which went by Sean Liang and just under the crossbar into goal. After 41 minutes of play, Codicote United's Sean Lee made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sean Liang was left in no man's land by his defense there! Anil Pillai received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Sean Liang tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 46 minutes into the match, Shahron Pillai had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sean Liang. Standish AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Shahron Pillai was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Shahron Pillai stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Anil Pillai had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Shahron Pillai managed to get in a good position for a shot. Codicote United's supporters rose to their feet, but Shahron Pillai was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sean Liang breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 64 minutes into the game, Joel Yi-Sheng recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Sean Liang. Joel Yi-Sheng showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-6. Sean Phua made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Muhammad Hoe in the 73rd minute of play. Anil Pillai did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-7 to the left of a surprised Sean Liang 74 minutes into the match. Sean Phua showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Muhammad Hoe in the 79th minute of the match. In the 81st match minute, Codicote United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anil Pillai to maneuver through the defense. Sean Liang tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 88th minute Sean Lee suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Danial Cheng's late challenge caught a Codicote United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Danial Cheng helped the player get up and apologised. After 87 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Standish AFC! Standish AFC:s Sean Liang showed great skill when he stopped Shahron Pillai:s penalty. After 93 minutes of play, Standish AFC's Rifki Seah made it 2-7 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sean Phua was left in no man's land by his defense there! Muhammad Hoe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Sean Phua tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Standish AFC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Codicote United were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
