Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Shahron Pillai kicked off to start the match. Sean Liang kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. Sean Lee blasted a shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alam Phua having to make a save. 10 minutes into the match, Anil Pillai dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Alam Phua, 1-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jonathan Swee in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alam Phua prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 14th minute, Famih Hian reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Alam Phua. The goal made the score 2-0. Rifqi Hongyi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Sean Phua tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Anil Pillai had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Alam Phua showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anil Pillai in the 20th minute of the match. After 21 played minutes Derby got a freekick which was hit by Darryl Lim. Sean Lee missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 23 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Alam Phua right hand side. After having played for 25 minutes, Khairul Lee managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Derby's supporters crossed their fingers, but Khairul Lee was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sean Lee who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 28thth minute tested the skills of Alam Phua when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Sean Phua took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Khairul Lee, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 33rd minute, Daniel Hsin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Derby booed when Codicote United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joel Yi-Sheng didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 37th minute of the match Darryl Lim shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sean Phua showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When Khairul Lee came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Derby fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Khairul Lee couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Khairul Lee in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sean Phua saved Codicote United from getting behind. If Khairul Lee had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sean Phua took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rifqi Hongyi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Khairul Lee stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st match minute, Derby was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wong Tian to maneuver through the defense. After 52 played minutes Derby got a freekick which was hit by Zack Chew. After 53 played minutes Codicote United got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Hsin. In the 56th minute Sean Lee shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alam Phua saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sean Lee received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Alam Phua tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sean Phua showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Khairul Lee in the 60th minute of the match. Anil Pillai fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alam Phua having to interfere. If Dale Nagasaki had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Rifqi Hongyi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Sean Phua tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Shahron Siong's late challenge caught a Codicote United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Shahron Siong helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Codicote United booed when Derby was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Shahron Siong didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anil Pillai in the 73rd minute of play forced Derby's goalkeeper Alam Phua to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Khairul Lee recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alam Phua showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Shahron Pillai in the 81st minute of the match. Codicote United's Sean Phua played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Khairul Lee in the 83rd minute of play. The referee felt a red card was in order, 85 minutes into the game, when Jonathan Swee put in a rough tackle. In the 87th minute, Darryl Lim sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Codicote United's Sean Phua didn't even have to move. When Dale Nagasaki came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Derby fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dale Nagasaki couldn't finish the play.
