Seating: 1330, VIP seats: 160) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Alam Ramachandran made the kick off which started today's match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ron Soon in the 3rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gabriel Seah saved Padstow United from getting behind. A sloppy throw-in by Faiz Ee in the 5th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Padstow United's Ali Cho. A collision led to Fordham getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Ron Soon hit a great ball. Fordham's Rifqi Wah got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 16 played minutes Fordham got a freekick which was hit by Hamir Keng. After 19 played minutes Fordham got a freekick which was hit by Hamir Keng. In the 20th minute of the match Alam Ramachandran shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marco Saldanha showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rifki Low during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Fordham getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Rifki Low hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Fordham defense, Gage Siang kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marco Saldanha. The Fordham fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marco Saldanha should have stopped the shot. 35 minutes into the match, Fordham's goal looked a bit too open when Gage Siang came free, but Marco Saldanha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marco Saldanha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gage Siang in the 37th minute of play. In the 39th minute Alam Ramachandran shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Saldanha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rifki Low got his second yellow card in the match during the 39th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 40th minute, Rifki Low hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ron Soon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gabriel Seah having to interfere. Alois Hořava sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alois Hořava to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Ron Soon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ang Paine struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Marco Saldanha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Padstow United. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Alois Hořava managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fordham's supporters rose to their feet, but Alois Hořava was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gabriel Seah breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rifqi Wah's late challenge caught a Padstow United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rifqi Wah helped the player get up and apologised. In the 60th match minute, Fordham was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rifqi Wah to maneuver through the defense. After 66 minutes of play, Fordham's Rifqi Wah made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gabriel Seah was left in no man's land by his defense there! Rifqi Wah struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Gabriel Seah didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fordham. Alam Ramachandran could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Marco Saldanha made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Ang Paine managed to get in a good position for a shot. Padstow United's supporters rose to their feet, but Ang Paine was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marco Saldanha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 82nd minute, Rifqi Wah got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rifqi Wah sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alois Hořava might have been able to make a better finish in the 91st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gabriel Seah. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alois Hořava ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 92nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Padstow United's goalkeeper Gabriel Seah, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gage Siang fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marco Saldanha having to interfere. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Padstow United walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
