Amirul Cho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lee Boon read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. Ron Soon's late challenge caught a Lion's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ron Soon helped the player get up and apologised. In the 13th minute, Ron Soon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ang Gopala Pillai showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wei Xuan Chai, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Wei Xuan Chai managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lion's supporters rose to their feet, but Wei Xuan Chai was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ang Gopala Pillai breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lee Boon didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 24th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. Sharizan Devan kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. In the 33rd match minute, Doe Bamar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sharizan Devan to maneuver through the defense. 34 minutes into the match, Lion's Shahiran Lee broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 38th minute of the match Danial Sum shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ang Gopala Pillai showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Amirul Cho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Wei Xuan Chai to strike the kick off in the second half. After 53 minutes, Rudy Henderson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Doe Bamar and the Lion players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Doe Bamar's Rudy Henderson got a free kick in the 53rd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Wei Xuan Chai in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ang Gopala Pillai saved Doe Bamar from getting behind. Bakar Ching sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Doe Bamar's Ang Gopala Pillai played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wei Xuan Chai in the 59th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Wei Xuan Chai's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ang Gopala Pillai was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. If Wei Xuan Chai had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a defensive mix-up in Lion's zone, Gara Au stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lee Boon came out of the goal and Gara Au tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bakar Ching could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Ang Gopala Pillai made a huge save. Lee Boon came out of the goal in the 72nd minute to try and stop a shot by Doe Bamar's Gara Au. But to his dismay, Gara Au quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Lee Boon stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Amirul Cho's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. After a rather tough play, Lion's Ang Kool got a free kick in the 77th minute. After having played for 80 minutes, Bakar Ching managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lion's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bakar Ching was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lee Boon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gara Au in the 81st minute of the match. Ang Gopala Pillai made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Bakar Ching sent off a good shot on target. Amirul Cho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lee Boon having to interfere. After having played for 86 minutes, Gara Au managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Doe Bamar's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gara Au was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gara Au fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lee Boon having to interfere. Lee Boon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gara Au in the 93rd minute of play. In the 93rd minute, Gara Au left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Doe Bamar fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Doe Bamar had won after a very even match.
