When Shahron Seng fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lion's protests and gave Shahron Seng a yellow card for diving instead. In the 25th match minute, Lion was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Shahron Seng to maneuver through the defense. Andre Dimmock received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Lee Boon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronny Beecham in the 45th minute of play forced Lion's goalkeeper Lee Boon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

In the 53rd minute, Lion's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Ronny Beecham fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Shahron Seng got his second yellow card in the match during the 55th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The supporters of Eltham AFC booed when Lion was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Shahron Seng didn't get a good kick on the ball. Azly Nair kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. In the 61st minute, Ronny Beecham got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a little luck, Lion's Lee Boon got control of the ball when Ronny Beecham tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 66th minute, Wei Xuan Chai hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lee Boon made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ronny Beecham in the 71st minute. Lion's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The supporters of Lion booed when Eltham AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andre Dimmock didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lion's Bakar Ching got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lee Boon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andre Dimmock, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 92nd minute Andre Dimmock shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lee Boon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lee Boon was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Andre Dimmock showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-1 in the 94 minute of play. Eltham AFC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
