Spectators: 8010 (Terracing: 6009, Seating: 1842, VIP seats: 159) Wei Xuan Chai made the kick off and thus started the match. 4 minutes into the match, Lion's goal looked a bit too open when Alam Ramachandran came free, but Lee Boon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 7 minutes, Wei Xuan Chai managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lion's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wei Xuan Chai was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Lion booed when Padstow United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gage Siang didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lee Boon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alam Ramachandran in the 13th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gage Siang in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lee Boon saved Lion from getting behind. In the 16th minute, Gage Siang ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lee Boon was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Alam Ramachandran sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gabriel Seah took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wei Xuan Chai, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 31st match minute, Padstow United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ali Cho to maneuver through the defense. Gabriel Seah stood somewhat misplaced when Wei Xuan Chai came free in front of goal and shot 1-1 to the left of him in the 34 minute. Alam Ramachandran sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lee Boon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alam Ramachandran, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bakar Ching received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Gabriel Seah tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lee Boon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alam Ramachandran in the 44th minute of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alam Ramachandran was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Lion's Jonathan Namasivayam got a free kick in the 51st minute. With a little luck, Lion's Lee Boon got control of the ball when Sarb Kang tried to sneak it across the goal line. 1-2 became the score in the 58th minute when Alam Ramachandran elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After 61 played minutes Lion got a freekick which was hit by Shahron Seng. In the 64th minute of the match Alam Ramachandran shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lee Boon showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Ang Paine fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lee Boon having to interfere. A collision led to Lion getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Bakar Ching hit a great ball. In the 75th minute, Sarb Kang hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gabriel Seah took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wei Xuan Chai, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 82nd minute Ang Paine shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lee Boon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lee Boon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gage Siang in the 83rd minute of the match. If Gage Siang had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lee Boon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gage Siang in the 86th minute of play. In the 88th minute, Ang Paine reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Lee Boon. The goal made the score 1-3. Mohammad Dryburgh kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. Padstow United's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
