Hidayat Dryburgh breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Azam Nair hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Cranbrook's zone, Lamar Henderson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hidayat Dryburgh came out of the goal and Lamar Henderson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 38th minute, Tan Chuan fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After 39 played minutes Cranbrook got a freekick which was hit by Victor Kool. Lamar Henderson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tan Chuan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Darryl Yeo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Tan Namasivayam had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gara Soon. Newcastle-upon-Tyne's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tan Namasivayam was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Darryl Yeo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hidayat Dryburgh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tan Chuan in the 69th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Cranbrook defense, Lamar Henderson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hidayat Dryburgh. The Cranbrook fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hidayat Dryburgh should have stopped the shot. Lamar Hong kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Cranbrook's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Steven Hongyi in the 79th minute. A nice corner shot did that Steven Hongyi got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Gara Soon quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Tan Chuan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hidayat Dryburgh having to interfere. In the 89th minute, Lamar Henderson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tan Chuan in the 92nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hidayat Dryburgh prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lamar Henderson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Hidayat Dryburgh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tan Chuan in the 98th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hidayat Dryburgh saved Cranbrook from getting behind. There was no doubt that Newcastle-upon-Tyne were the better team. Newcastle-upon-Tyne's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
