Firdauz Paine made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Danny Newlyn in the 4th minute of play. In the 5th minute, Shukrie Au hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 11 played minutes, Ross on Wye's Shah Rajah shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Donny Butterfield came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ross on Wye reached it. Danny Newlyn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Firdauz Paine tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Firdauz Paine showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Danny Newlyn, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. A collision led to Ross on Wye getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Joel Tian hit a great ball. Vince Mayall was extremely unlucky when he, in the 21st minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. If Vince Mayall had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 26 played minutes Ross on Wye got a freekick which was hit by Joel Tian. After 28 played minutes Ross on Wye got a freekick which was hit by Amir Phua. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Danny Newlyn managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pirton AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Danny Newlyn was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Firdauz Paine breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 67 played minutes Pirton AFC got a freekick which was hit by Miles Cheesman. Donny Butterfield made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Faiz Seng sent off a good shot on target. Felix Soon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donny Butterfield having to interfere. Firdauz Paine took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Danny Newlyn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Ross on Wye's zone, Danny Newlyn stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Firdauz Paine came out of the goal and Danny Newlyn tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pirton AFC's Danny Newlyn got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vince Mayall recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Firdauz Paine showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Danny Newlyn in the 85th minute of the match. Vince Mayall blasted a shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Firdauz Paine having to make a save. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Pirton AFC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
