The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Vince Mayall fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hidayat Dryburgh having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Danny Newlyn in the 30th minute of play forced Cranbrook's goalkeeper Hidayat Dryburgh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pirton AFC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Darryl Yeo 38 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-1. In the 43rd match minute, Cranbrook was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Victor Kool to maneuver through the defense. When Pirton AFC's Phillip Porter in the 46th minute got a chance for a shot 46th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Cranbrook's goalie prevented a goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Danny Newlyn to make the kick off. Tan Namasivayam struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Donny Butterfield didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cranbrook. Hidayat Dryburgh came out of the goal in the 56th minute to try and stop a shot by Pirton AFC's Vince Mayall. But to his dismay, Vince Mayall quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. Danny Newlyn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hidayat Dryburgh having to interfere. Hidayat Dryburgh made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Vince Mayall sent off a good shot on target. 78 minutes into the match, Danny Newlyn dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Hidayat Dryburgh, 2-3. After 84 played minutes Pirton AFC got a freekick which was hit by Victor Ruddock. A collision led to Pirton AFC getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Phillip Porter hit a great ball. Darryl Yeo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cranbrook's Hidayat Dryburgh proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save Cranbrook from getting a goal against them. Vince Mayall sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Pirton AFC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
