After a defensive mix-up in Moretonhampstead United's zone, Clive Nair stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Johnny Etherington came out of the goal and Clive Nair tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 27th minute of the match Iskandar Dyce sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Johnny Etherington skillfully saved the ball. In the 28th match minute, Moretonhampstead United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gordon Dingle to maneuver through the defense. Moretonhampstead United's Johnny Etherington proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Moretonhampstead United from getting a goal against them. After 33 played minutes Moretonhampstead United got a freekick which was hit by Gordon Dingle. In the 36th minute, Stefan Kaye hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Iskandar Dyce was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 37th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. If Todd Clay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julian Beadel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fariz Chan having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Shukrie Politiek was the one to do the kick off. Fariz Chan made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Todd Clay sent off a good shot on target. Fariz Chan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brandon Bartrup in the 59th minute of play. In the 60th minute, Clive Nair got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mark Seng hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. 70 minutes into the match, Julian Beadel dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Fariz Chan, 0-2. In the 73rd minute, Mark Seng hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Todd Clay sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fariz Chan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Todd Clay in the 78th minute. Shukrie Politiek recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With 82 minutes on the clock, Joel Craven commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 81 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Moretonhampstead United! The referee gave İnter a penalty, 84 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Iskandar Dyce, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Moretonhampstead United's Johnny Etherington. 1-2. Todd Clay sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. İnter's Clive Nair got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 96 minutes into the game, Todd Clay cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Fariz Chan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The İnter fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Moretonhampstead United were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
