Ang Ning didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Muhammad Tuan went, in the 32nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Darren Hui kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. 36 minutes into the game, Felix Koh was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Archway's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave LionsXII the free kick. The supporters of LionsXII booed when Archway was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felix Koh didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Shah Choy made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Daniz Tan notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Archway's Ang Ning. Ang Ning was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 58 minutes into the game, Rifki Seng was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Muhammad Tuan was extremely unlucky when he, in the 93rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 96th minute, Shah Choy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. LionsXII's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
