Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Arif Nair started the match with the kick off. 6 minutes into the match, Bryan Sim notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Shelfield United's Ong Pillai. Ong Pillai was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 11th minute, Darryl Hsi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Shelfield United's Tan Ee got a free kick in the 12th minute. Bryan Sim who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 15thth minute tested the skills of Ong Pillai when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Arif Nair sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Afriz Hsi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arif Nair, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arif Nair fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Afriz Hsi having to interfere. If Ryan Ee had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tan Ee kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Afriz Hsi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ryan Ee, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Shahiran Tee hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Ong Pillai was a little too slow when Bryan Sim got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 29th minute. The score was now 2-0. After a rather tough play, Willenhall AFC's Dale Pieng got a free kick in the 36th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Shelfield United's zone, Dale Pieng stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ong Pillai came out of the goal and Dale Pieng tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

Ronn Vijiaratnam was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 53 minutes into the match. After 52 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Willenhall AFC! When the match had been going on for 55 minutes, Shelfield United's Iskandar Ning got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Afriz Hsi. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bryan Sim in the 60th minute of play forced Shelfield United's goalkeeper Ong Pillai to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Shahiran Tee's late challenge caught a Willenhall AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Shahiran Tee helped the player get up and apologised. Shahiran Tee kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Ong Pillai made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bryan Sim in the 65th minute of play. Ong Pillai took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bryan Sim, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bryan Sim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ong Pillai having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Shelfield United's Tan Ee got a free kick in the 71st minute. Bryan Sim sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bryan Sim charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bryan Sim the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Shelfield United booed when Willenhall AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bryan Sim didn't get a good kick on the ball. 83 minutes into the match, Shelfield United's goal looked a bit too open when Bryan Sim came free, but Ong Pillai reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Afriz Hsi made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Ryan Ee sent off a good shot on target. Ong Pillai showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bryan Sim, who was totally free with the ball in the 98th minute. There was no doubt that Willenhall AFC were the better team. Willenhall AFC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
