Wong Lee charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Wong Lee the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 4th match minute, Mansfield AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wong Lee to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Lion City Sailors getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Shahiran Swee hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wei Xuan Chien-Kwan in the 9th minute of play forced Lion City Sailors's goalkeeper Alif Abdul to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lion City Sailors's Asiz Wenyong got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dale Hong in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Azly Tee prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Hidayat Sim kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wei Xuan Chien-Kwan in the 21st minute of play forced Lion City Sailors's goalkeeper Alif Abdul to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 22nd minute Asiz Wenyong shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Azly Tee saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 25 played minutes, Mansfield AFC's Amirul Keng shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Alif Abdul came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Mansfield AFC reached it. In the 29th minute, Jithu Tan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Noh Hui managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lion City Sailors's supporters rose to their feet, but Noh Hui was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Azly Tee breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 37th match minute, Lion City Sailors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Asiz Wenyong to maneuver through the defense. Sharizan Chew kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. 41 minutes into the match, Alam Hock sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Alif Abdul threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Alam Hock this time. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wei Xuan Chien-Kwan in the 42nd minute of play forced Lion City Sailors's goalkeeper Alif Abdul to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dale Hong was the one to do the kick off. Alif Abdul stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Wong Lee's shot from short distance in the 51st minute. Azly Tee made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Asiz Wenyong sent off a good shot on target. 54 minutes into the match, Lion City Sailors's goal looked a bit too open when Wei Xuan Chien-Kwan came free, but Alif Abdul reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 55th minute of the match Amirul Keng shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Alif Abdul showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Danish Nagasaki sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jithu Tan who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 65thth minute tested the skills of Azly Tee when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Noh Hui had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Asiz Wenyong sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 69th match minute, Mansfield AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Shahiran Politiek to maneuver through the defense. In the 70th minute, Noh Hui sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Mansfield AFC's Azly Tee didn't even have to move. Jithu Tan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Azly Tee tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dale Hong recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 76 minutes into the match, Mansfield AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Jithu Tan came free, but Azly Tee reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dale Hong fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Azly Tee having to interfere. Jithu Tan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Azly Tee having to make a save. A hard shot 85 in the game by Dale Hong from a close distance when the talented Azly Tee managed to make a qualified save. Mansfield AFC's players were relieved. Sharizan Chew received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Azly Tee tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wong Lee fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alif Abdul having to interfere. Alam Hock hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Lion City Sailors were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
