Leytonstone
Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000,
Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Sajeev Shiong took the kick off in the first half of the match. Ron Kool struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Shahron Lim didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Leytonstone United. 21 minutes into the game, Sajeev Shiong recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Shahron Lim. Sajeev Shiong showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Adam Lum made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dale Mathews in the 24th minute of play. Leconfield's Sharizan Politiek couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 25th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Leytonstone United. Leconfield's Hafriz Soon got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Leconfield booed when Leytonstone United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. John Ching didn't get a good kick on the ball. Adam Lum didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dale Mathews went, in the 32nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Adam Lum showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hafriz Soon, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. If Dale Mathews had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Dale Mathews came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Leconfield fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dale Mathews couldn't finish the play. After having played for 43 minutes, Hafriz Soon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Leconfield's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hafriz Soon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ron Kool sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
The wind increased when Dale Mathews made the kick off in the second half. John Ching was shown his second yellow card after 52 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 53rd minute, John Ching hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 54 minutes into the match, Leconfield's Sharizan Politiek broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Hafriz Soon in the 55thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Adam Lum, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. If Dale Mathews had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Leytonstone United's Adam Lum got control of the ball when Hafriz Soon tried to sneak it across the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Hafriz Soon kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Adam Lum. That made the score 1-2 in the 64 minute of play. Hafriz Soon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 72 played minutes Leytonstone United got a freekick which was hit by Joel Teo. After recieving a nice pass, Leconfield's Sharizan Politiek tried to score from far away in the 74th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Hafriz Soon could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Adam Lum made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Leytonstone United's Zafran Henderson got a free kick in the 85th minute. 89 minutes into the match, Leytonstone United's goal looked a bit too open when Dale Mathews came free, but Adam Lum reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hafriz Soon struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Adam Lum didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Leconfield.
