Clive Choo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ali Hong read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 10th minute of play. 20 minutes into the match, SK Abdul notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Launceston's Wei Xuan Cho. Wei Xuan Cho was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Danish Lam in the 25th minute of play forced Launceston's goalkeeper Wei Xuan Cho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wei Xuan Cho came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by Otley City's Danish Lam. But to his dismay, Danish Lam quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. When Faizal Shiong fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Launceston's protests and gave Faizal Shiong a yellow card for diving instead. In the 33rd match minute, Launceston was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Faizal Shiong to maneuver through the defense. When Danish Lam came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Otley City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Danish Lam couldn't finish the play. Wei Xuan Cho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from SK Abdul in the 36th minute of the match. In the 38th minute, SK Abdul ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Wei Xuan Cho was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. After having played for 43 minutes, Amir Chong managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Launceston's supporters crossed their fingers, but Amir Chong was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Danish Lam sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Danish Lam stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, SK Abdul reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Wei Xuan Cho. The goal made the score 0-4. Through an outstanding action, after 56 minutes, Wei Xuan Cho successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. A long shot from Faizal Seng in the 67th minute of play was well struck, but Wei Xuan Cho made a really good save at the right post. After 70 minutes of play Launceston's Faizal Shiong was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 71st minute, Faizal Seng got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Launceston's Wei Xuan Cho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Danish Lam in the 74th minute of play. When Otley City's SK Abdul in 76 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Wei Xuan Cho guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Wei Xuan Cho made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when SK Abdul sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, Launceston's Wei Xuan Cho got control of the ball when SK Abdul tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Clive Choo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 87 minutes into the match, Launceston's goalkeeper Wei Xuan Cho had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by SK Abdul. With a little luck, Launceston's Wei Xuan Cho got control of the ball when SK Abdul tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lamar Sim during the 94th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 94 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Launceston! After a rather tough play, Launceston's Ronn Lim got a free kick in the 97th minute. SK Abdul sent away a hard shot on goal in the 99th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Launceston fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Otley City were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
