In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind Middridge Village AFC's goalkeeper Mitch Boston, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Daniel Dryburgh fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Newton Heath FC's protests and gave Daniel Dryburgh a yellow card for diving instead. After 30 played minutes Newton Heath FC got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Dryburgh. Tim Addison sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Tim Addison had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 42 minutes into the match, Newton Heath FC's Khairul Wah sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mitch Boston narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to Middridge Village AFC getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Kelvin Harland hit a great ball. The Middridge Village AFC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Newton Heath FC were winning 0-1.

The wind increased when Tim Addison made the kick off in the second half. Khairul Wah's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mitch Boston read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. Wong Tan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Mitch Boston tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Newton Heath FC's Khairul Wah got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Stevie Chadwick had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Bryan Chew made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tim Addison in the 76th minute of play. Bryan Chew showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stevie Chadwick, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Azam Chuan hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Bryan Chew came out of the goal in the 84th minute to try and stop a shot by Middridge Village AFC's Stevie Chadwick. But to his dismay, Stevie Chadwick quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. 88 minutes into the match, Middridge Village AFC's goalkeeper Mitch Boston had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Khairul Wah. 92 minutes into the match, Middridge Village AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Jonathan Hock came free, but Mitch Boston reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Newton Heath FC players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Middridge Village AFC from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
