Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Ron Dryburgh hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. Zafran Phua sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Watlington booed when Malton was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ron Dryburgh didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Malton defense, Alex Keng kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sean Sarangapani. The Malton fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sean Sarangapani should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gabriel Hsin in the 17th minute of play forced Watlington's goalkeeper Afiq Keng to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jithu Hongyi kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. 20 minutes into the game, Alex Keng recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Sean Sarangapani. Alex Keng showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. After 26 minutes of play, Malton's Khai Tioe made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Afiq Keng was left in no man's land by his defense there! Malton's Khai Tioe got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Alex Keng managed to get in a good position for a shot. Watlington's supporters rose to their feet, but Alex Keng was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sean Sarangapani breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 33rd minute, Watlington's Mark Boon ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Sean Sarangapani. Sean Sarangapani yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-1. The supporters of Malton booed when Watlington was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alif Lee didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sean Sarangapani took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alex Keng, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sean Sarangapani made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zafran Phua in the 43rd minute. Khai Tioe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 46 minutes into the game, Khai Tioe cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Afiq Keng was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-2. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Khai Tioe was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Watlington's Zafran Phua nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sean Sarangapani made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-2. Malton's Faiz Siang got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ron Dryburgh hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Haziq Hong got a throw-in 59 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Gabriel Hsin. In the 60th minute, Mark Boon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Faiz Siang blasted a shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Afiq Keng having to make a save. In the 63rd match minute, Watlington was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anil Mathews to maneuver through the defense. In the 66th minute Zafran Phua suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Shahiran Seah during the 66th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Malton's Shahiran Seah got a free kick in the 67th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Faris Yang in the 76th minute of play forced Malton's goalkeeper Sean Sarangapani to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 77 played minutes Watlington got a freekick which was hit by Mark Boon. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 80th minute of the game. One of Watlington:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Malton:s goal. When Watlington's Faris Yang in the 86th minute got a chance for a shot 86th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Malton's goalie prevented a goal. Afiq Keng made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Gabriel Hsin sent off a good shot on target. Sean Sarangapani took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Faris Yang, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alif Lee in the 93rd minute of play forced Malton's goalkeeper Sean Sarangapani to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alif Lee recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 97th minute, Gabriel Hsin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Watlington's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
