Rifki Lim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mark Boon in the 4th minute of the match. In the 6th minute of the match, Alex Keng tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Rifki Lim saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Afiz Siang kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. In the 10th minute, Prime Paine made a precise shot to the right of Afiq Keng. Watlington's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. If Jonathan Chandran had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 14th match minute, Watlington was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mark Boon to maneuver through the defense. After 17 minutes, Prime Paine mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Toa Payoh Town and the Watlington players grew even worse after the yellow card. Prime Paine kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. In the 18th minute, Bryan Seah hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 19 played minutes, Watlington's Alex Keng shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Rifki Lim came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Watlington reached it. 22 minutes into the match, Watlington's goal looked a bit too open when Jonathan Chandran came free, but Afiq Keng reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Afiq Keng didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jonathan Chandran went, in the 25th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. In the 28th minute Zafran Phua shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rifki Lim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Afiq Keng stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jonathan Chandran's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. Rifki Lim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alex Keng, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rifki Lim made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zafran Phua in the 44th minute. The Watlington players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Toa Payoh Town were winning 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Prime Paine stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Didi Hoe's late challenge caught a Watlington's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Didi Hoe helped the player get up and apologised. Didi Hoe hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. When Gage Devan came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Watlington fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gage Devan couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zafran Phua in the 57th minute of play forced Toa Payoh Town's goalkeeper Rifki Lim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 61 minutes into the game, Alex Keng cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Rifki Lim was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Rifki Lim came out of the goal in the 66th minute to try and stop a shot by Watlington's Alex Keng. But to his dismay, Alex Keng quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. After 69 minutes, Azli Butcher mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Toa Payoh Town and the Watlington players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 69th minute, Azli Butcher hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience held their breath when Alex Keng in the 74th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Rifki Lim's left hand side. Watlington's Afiq Keng proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save Watlington from getting a goal against them. 79 minutes into the match, Toa Payoh Town's goal looked a bit too open when Alex Keng came free, but Rifki Lim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 81st match minute, Toa Payoh Town was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Prime Paine to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alex Keng during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 82 played minutes Watlington got a freekick which was hit by Alex Keng. Rifki Lim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mark Boon in the 87th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Toa Payoh Town defense, Zafran Phua kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rifki Lim. The Toa Payoh Town fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rifki Lim should have stopped the shot. Watlington's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
