Malton
Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000,
Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Shahron Ching got the match started through his kick off. In the 4th match minute, Sudbury AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hidayat Wenyong to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lamar Yeo in the 7th minute of play forced Malton's goalkeeper Sean Sarangapani to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Steven Boon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sean Sarangapani having to interfere. Sean Sarangapani came out of the goal in the 9th minute to try and stop a shot by Sudbury AFC's Shahron Ching. But to his dismay, Shahron Ching quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After 13 minutes, Arif Namasivayam mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sudbury AFC and the Malton players grew even worse after the yellow card. Arif Namasivayam kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Sean Sarangapani showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Steven Boon, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. 19 minutes into the match, Steven Nagasaki dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Khairil Seng, 1-1. After 21 played minutes Sudbury AFC got a freekick which was hit by Steven Boon. In the 22nd minute of the match Ron Dryburgh sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Khairil Seng skillfully saved the ball. In the 27th minute Steven Boon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sean Sarangapani saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Sudbury AFC booed when Malton was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Azli Vijiaratnam didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Shahron Ching in the 33rd minute of play forced Malton's goalkeeper Sean Sarangapani to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Khairil Seng made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Steven Nagasaki in the 34th minute of play. 35 minutes into the match, Sudbury AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Gabriel Hsin came free, but Khairil Seng reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Steven Boon in the 37th minute of play forced Malton's goalkeeper Sean Sarangapani to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sean Sarangapani took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Shahron Ching, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Malton's Sean Sarangapani played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Shahron Ching in the 45th minute of play. Shahiran Seah hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. With 54 minutes on the clock, Shukrie Dyce commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 53rd minute, one of Sudbury AFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Sudbury AFC. 59 minutes into the match, Malton's goalkeeper Sean Sarangapani had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Steven Boon. Steven Boons short, quick shot in the 66thth minute got Sean Sarangapani to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Faiz Singh could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Sean Sarangapani made a huge save. Khairil Seng took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Steven Nagasaki, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Steven Boon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Sean Sarangapani tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sudbury AFC's Khairil Seng played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Steven Nagasaki in the 76th minute of play. Khairil Seng showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gabriel Hsin in the 77th minute of the match. In the 79th minute Gabriel Hsin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Khairil Seng saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Steven Boon had several of the Malton's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 82 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-4 score and a disappointed Sean Sarangapani as he didn't even see the shot coming. Malton's Faiz Siang got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 90 minutes, Steven Boon mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sudbury AFC and the Malton players grew even worse after the yellow card. Sean Sarangapani made an important save on a dangerous shot by Steven Boon in the 97th minute. The Sudbury AFC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
