Lamar Boon made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tan Shiong in the 4th minute. Darren Lum blasted a shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lamar Boon having to make a save. If Darren Lum had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Lamar Boon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Darren Lum, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lamar Boon stood somewhat misplaced when Tan Shiong came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 20 minute. 22 minutes into the match, Halesworth United's goal looked a bit too open when Tan Shiong came free, but Lamar Boon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Merlin Shiong sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lamar Boon was a little too slow when Darren Lum got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 28th minute. The score was now 2-0. Gage Seah showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arif Hong in the 37th minute of the match. Lamar Boon made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tan Shiong in the 40th minute. In the 42nd minute of the match Bryan Butcher sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gage Seah skillfully saved the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Darren Lum was the one to do the kick off. Halesworth United's Merlin Shiong got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gage Seah made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Ali Paine sent off a good shot on target. Ali Paine's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Gage Seah firmly grabbed it by the left post. Lamar Boon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Darren Lum, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Darren Lum's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lamar Boon was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. Lamar Boon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Darren Lum in the 73rd minute of play. Tan Shiong might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lamar Boon. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tan Shiong ran back to his position shaking his head. Lamar Boon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tan Shiong, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. In the 76th minute, Faiz Lim hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lamar Boon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Darren Lum in the 80th minute of play. Darren Lum sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lamar Boon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Prime Choy in the 86th minute of play. In the 87th match minute, Lewes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Prime Choy to maneuver through the defense. Gage Seah made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ali Paine in the 95th minute. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Lewes fully deserved thier win.
