The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The Hertford fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. After a rather tough play, Chelmsford AFC's Firdauz Yip got a free kick in the 13th minute. Mark Au showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Danish Hsin in the 20th minute of the match. The supporters of Chelmsford AFC booed when Hertford was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonathan Soon didn't get a good kick on the ball. 33 minutes into the match, Hertford's goalkeeper John Hui had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Khairil Chian. Gerard Tuan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but John Hui made a huge save. With a little luck, Hertford's John Hui got control of the ball when Amir Chandran tried to sneak it across the goal line. 45 minutes into the game, Chelmsford AFC's Gerard Tuan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Gage Tian made the kick off in the second half. Hertford's John Hui played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gage Tian in the 52nd minute of play. John Hui showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amir Chandran, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. After having played for 57 minutes, Firdauz Yip managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chelmsford AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Firdauz Yip was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Danish Hsin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. John Hui showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gage Tian in the 61st minute of the match. John Hui came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by Chelmsford AFC's Gage Tian. But to his dismay, Gage Tian quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amir Chandran in the 66th minute of play forced Hertford's goalkeeper John Hui to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Danish Hsin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Mark Au tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A hard shot 70 in the game by Danish Hsin from a close distance when the talented Mark Au managed to make a qualified save. Chelmsford AFC's players were relieved. In the 75th minute, Danish Hsin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 76th match minute, Chelmsford AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Firdauz Yip to maneuver through the defense. Mark Au didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Danish Hsin went, in the 78th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-3 was the resulting score. With a little luck, Chelmsford AFC's Mark Au got control of the ball when Danish Hsin tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Danish Hsin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Chelmsford AFC's Mark Au proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Chelmsford AFC from getting a goal against them. When Danish Hsin came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Hertford fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Danish Hsin couldn't finish the play. Danish Hsin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Mark Au made a huge save. The Chelmsford AFC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Hertford were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
