Dênis Alves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zafran Hongyi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rudy Tan in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dênis Alves saved Peranakan from getting behind. In the 9th minute, Zafran Hongyi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rayleigh fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 16 minutes into the game, Zak Chong cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Bryan Hian was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Rifki Dhanabalan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Bryan Hian made a huge save. Dênis Alves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hamir Yip, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rudy Tan in the 29th minute of play forced Peranakan's goalkeeper Dênis Alves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 31 minutes into the match, Peranakan's goal looked a bit too open when Rudy Tan came free, but Dênis Alves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 35 minutes of play, Rayleigh's Rudy Tan made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dênis Alves was left in no man's land by his defense there! Zak Chong could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Bryan Hian made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zafran Hongyi in the 43rd minute of play forced Peranakan's goalkeeper Dênis Alves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zak Chong received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Bryan Hian tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zak Chong could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Bryan Hian made a huge save. After 47 minutes, Zafran Hongyi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rayleigh and the Peranakan players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Rayleigh getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Zafran Hongyi hit a great ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rudy Tan made a kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Peranakan's goal looked a bit too open when Mark Yip came free, but Dênis Alves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rudy Tan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Dênis Alves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Rayleigh getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Rudy Tan hit a great ball. In the 69th minute of the match, Hamir Yip tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Dênis Alves saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When Albert Lum fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Peranakan's protests and gave Albert Lum a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Rayleigh booed when Peranakan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albert Lum didn't get a good kick on the ball. 73 minutes into the match, Peranakan's goalkeeper Dênis Alves had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mark Yip. In the 74th minute Hamir Yip shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dênis Alves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Zak Henderson came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Peranakan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zak Henderson couldn't finish the play. If Rifki Dhanabalan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Peranakan's zone, Mark Yip stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dênis Alves came out of the goal and Mark Yip tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Peranakan's Dênis Alves proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save Peranakan from getting a goal against them. Dênis Alves came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by Rayleigh's Hamir Yip. But to his dismay, Hamir Yip quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-3. Bryan Hian made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zak Chong in the 91st minute of play. After 94 minutes, Zak Chong made it 5-3 with a short kick to the right side. Rayleigh's Bryan Hian tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. For all the effort they put into the match, the Rayleigh players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Peranakan.
