An unexpectedly hard shot by Jerry Devan in the 4th minute of play forced Stevenage United's goalkeeper Sarb Singh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 7th minute, Jerry Devan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sarb Singh was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Sarb Singh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Victor Wah in the 10th minute of the match. Holford United's Asiz Lee suffered a concussion after 11 minutes and had to leave the field. The supporters of Holford United booed when Stevenage United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Darryl Abdul didn't get a good kick on the ball. Stevenage United's Sarb Singh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ong Sarangapani in the 14th minute of play. 17 minutes into the game, Holford United's Ong Sarangapani nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sarb Singh made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. When Holford United's Ong Sarangapani in the 19th minute got a chance for a shot 19th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 25th minute, Ong Sarangapani got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Didi Hee blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Famih Henderson having to make a save. Famih Henderson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ang Braddell's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. With an all-out effort, Stevenage United's Famih Henderson threw himself towards the right post 28 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ang Braddell, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Victor Wah recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Daniel Tioe recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Victor Wah fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sarb Singh having to interfere. In the 41stth minute of the game Ong Sarangapani who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Stevenage United's Sarb Singh was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Sarb Singh showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jerry Devan, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Victor Wah recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Ong Sarangapani managed to get in a good position for a shot. Holford United's supporters rose to their feet, but Ong Sarangapani was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sarb Singh breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ong Sarangapani to strike the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Darryl Abdul in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Famih Henderson saved Holford United from getting behind. A hard shot by Jerry Devan from long distance, 64 minutes into the match, got Sarb Singh's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Ong Sarangapani fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sarb Singh having to interfere. After 67 played minutes Holford United got a freekick which was hit by Muhammad Singh. After having played for 69 minutes, Ang Braddell managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Stevenage United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ang Braddell was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ong Sarangapani came free with the goalkeeper in the 72nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Sarb Singh could save by the left post. After 81 minutes of play, Holford United's Jerry Devan made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sarb Singh was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Ong Sarangapani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Famih Henderson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rifki Ramachandran, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rifki Ramachandran received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Famih Henderson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jerry Devan charged in rather forcefully in the 89th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jerry Devan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Jerry Devan kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Jerry Devan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
