Gara Sum started the match with the kick off. Anil Ning's late challenge caught a Thomson9ers's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Anil Ning helped the player get up and apologised. Anil Ning kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. Thomson9ers's Ronn Chien-Kwan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hamir Wah in the 9th minute of play. 14 minutes into the game, Zak Hui was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Thomson9ers's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Radin Mas AFC the free kick. Zak Hui hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, Radin Mas AFC's Rudy Yeo tried to score from far away in the 15th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Radin Mas AFC's Aziz Lee got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gara Sum received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Asiz Tan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 27 minutes, Gara Sum took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Asiz Tan to make any attempt to save it. Asiz Tan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gara Sum, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Gara Sum's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Asiz Tan was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Gara Sum managed to get in a good position for a shot. Thomson9ers's supporters rose to their feet, but Gara Sum was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Asiz Tan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Zak Hui kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. 43 minutes into the match, Radin Mas AFC's Rudy Yeo broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hamir Wah in the 47th minute of play forced Thomson9ers's goalkeeper Ronn Chien-Kwan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The wind increased when Hidayat Lee made the kick off in the second half. Ronn Chien-Kwan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hidayat Lee in the 51st minute of the match.
