With an all-out effort, Spang FC's Anil Chuan threw himself towards the right post 11 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Joel Ning, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The supporters of Spang FC booed when Stanway FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zack Ramachandran didn't get a good kick on the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 16 minutes, Anil Chuan successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind Spang FC's goalkeeper Arif Lim, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 38 minutes of play, Stanway FC's Shukrie Pillai made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Arif Lim was left in no man's land by his defense there! 40 minutes into the match, Spang FC's goal looked a bit too open when Zack Ramachandran came free, but Arif Lim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Zafran Low fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Spang FC's protests and gave Zafran Low a yellow card for diving instead. In the 41st match minute, Spang FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zafran Low to maneuver through the defense. Arif Lim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Danial Sum, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alan Ning got free with Arif Lim in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 65 minutes of play Stanway FC's Alan Ning was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 65th minute, Alan Ning hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Stanway FC getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Shukrie Pillai hit a great ball. In the 71st minute of the match, Danial Sum got a very nice opportunity to score, but Arif Lim was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 77 minutes into the match, Zack Ramachandran had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Arif Lim. Spang FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Zack Ramachandran was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-3. Spang FC's Arif Lim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zack Ramachandran in the 82nd minute of play. 83 minutes into the match, Danial Sum notched a goal, 3-4, to the right of Spang FC's Arif Lim. Arif Lim was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Zack Ramachandran received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Arif Lim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 89 minutes into the match, Spang FC's goalkeeper Arif Lim had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Danial Sum. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexander Sim in the 94th minute of play forced Stanway FC's goalkeeper Anil Chuan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 96 minutes into the match, Stanway FC's goal looked a bit too open when Alexander Sim came free, but Anil Chuan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Stanway FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Stanway FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
