After a defensive mix-up in Waterfoot's zone, Amir Au stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Haziq Siong came out of the goal and Amir Au tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Sidnei Maciel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Waterfoot's Haziq Siong proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 4th minute of the match, managed to save Waterfoot from getting a goal against them. Sidnei Maciel blasted a shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Haziq Siong having to make a save. Haziq Siong showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sidnei Maciel, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. When Khairil Vijiaratnam fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Waterfoot's protests and gave Khairil Vijiaratnam a yellow card for diving instead. 12 minutes into the match, Waterfoot's goal looked a bit too open when Sidnei Maciel came free, but Haziq Siong reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Haziq Siong made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Sidnei Maciel sent off a good shot on target. In the 17th minute, Sidnei Maciel left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Tampines Rovers Football fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Shah Chian's late challenge caught a Tampines Rovers Football's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Shah Chian helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Waterfoot's Shah Chian got a free kick in the 20th minute. In the 26th minute, Sidnei Maciel made a precise shot to the right of Haziq Siong. Waterfoot's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Mindaugas Karalius showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gabriel Tian, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. A collision led to Waterfoot getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Shah Chian hit a great ball. Haziq Siong came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by Tampines Rovers Football's Sidnei Maciel. But to his dismay, Sidnei Maciel quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. After some careless play in the Waterfoot defense, Sidnei Maciel kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Haziq Siong. The Waterfoot fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Haziq Siong should have stopped the shot. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

After 54 minutes of play, Tampines Rovers Football's Sidnei Maciel made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Haziq Siong was left in no man's land by his defense there! 58 minutes into the match, Sidnei Maciel notched a goal, 6-0, to the right of Waterfoot's Haziq Siong. Haziq Siong was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Haziq Siong came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by Tampines Rovers Football's Sidnei Maciel. But to his dismay, Sidnei Maciel quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-0. Tampines Rovers Football made a substitution. Alejandro Selatse replaced Sidnei Maciel. Faiz Hongyi scored 8-0 in the 66th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Haziq Siong, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Alejandro Selatse got in the 75th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Haziq Siong handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Waterfoot's zone, Alejandro Selatse stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Haziq Siong came out of the goal and Alejandro Selatse tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alejandro Selatse might have been able to make a better finish in the 82nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Haziq Siong. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alejandro Selatse ran back to his position shaking his head. Bakar Kang kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Waterfoot's Haziq Siong played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amir Au in the 96th minute of play. Tampines Rovers Football walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
