Lee Wenyong received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Jerry Tan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Shahiran Siang fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Camden AF's protests and gave Shahiran Siang a yellow card for diving instead. Jerry Tan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lee Wenyong, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 13 minutes of play, Birkendale Rangers's Farhan Yeo made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jerry Tan was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a little luck, Birkendale Rangers's Bryan Yip got control of the ball when Afriz Pieng tried to sneak it across the goal line. Lee Wenyong took the ball and in the 17 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jerry Tan. Jerry Tan dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Lee Wenyong struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Jerry Tan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Birkendale Rangers. 22 minutes into the match, Camden AF's goal looked a bit too open when Steven Sum came free, but Jerry Tan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Camden AF getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Steven Chong hit a great ball. Birkendale Rangers's Bryan Yip proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Birkendale Rangers from getting a goal against them. The Birkendale Rangers fans' excitement grew in the 28th match minute when Birkendale Rangers's Steven Sum looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 32 minutes into the game, Birkendale Rangers's Lee Wenyong nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jerry Tan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. In the 35thth minute of the game Farhan Yeo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Camden AF's Jerry Tan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Lee Wenyong scored 0-5 in the 36th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jerry Tan, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 41st minute Farhan Yeo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jerry Tan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Birkendale Rangers getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Victor Lee hit a great ball. In the 46th minute Hafriz Siang shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bryan Yip saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Birkendale Rangers's Bryan Yip got control of the ball when Afriz Pieng tried to sneak it across the goal line. Bryan Yip showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hafriz Siang, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hafriz Siang stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A hard shot 52 in the game by Victor Lee from a close distance when the talented Jerry Tan managed to make a qualified save. Camden AF's players were relieved. An unexpectedly hard shot by Steven Chong in the 53rd minute of play forced Birkendale Rangers's goalkeeper Bryan Yip to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 55 minutes into the match, Sean Teo sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Jerry Tan threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Sean Teo this time. 59 minutes into the match, Camden AF's goalkeeper Jerry Tan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lee Wenyong. Birkendale Rangers's attentive Farhan Yeo managed to snatch the ball when Shukrie Seng made a throw-in in the 62nd minute of the game. Bryan Yip showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hafriz Siang in the 68th minute of the match. In the 68th minute, Farhan Yeo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hafriz Siang in the 76th minute of play forced Birkendale Rangers's goalkeeper Bryan Yip to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 79 minutes into the game, Felix Koh was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Birkendale Rangers's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Camden AF the free kick. After a rather tough play, Birkendale Rangers's Felix Koh got a free kick in the 81st minute. Steven Choy scored 0-6 in the 82nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jerry Tan, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 86 minutes into the match, Steven Choy notched a goal, 0-7, to the right of Camden AF's Jerry Tan. Jerry Tan was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 92 minutes in the game, Steven Sum fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Jerry Tan having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Birkendale Rangers's Steven Choy got a free kick in the 94th minute. 96 minutes into the match, Birkendale Rangers's goal looked a bit too open when Hafriz Siang came free, but Bryan Yip reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bryan Yip came out of the goal in the 96th minute to try and stop a shot by Camden AF's Hafriz Siang. But to his dismay, Hafriz Siang quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-7. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Birkendale Rangers had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
