The referee showed Gerard Tan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Warer City's Gerard Tan got a free kick in the 25th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Warer City's zone, Hafriz Siang stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Shafiq Phua came out of the goal and Hafriz Siang tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Afriz Pieng had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Camden AF's Steven Chong got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 35 played minutes Warer City got a freekick which was hit by Gerard Tan. Shafiq Phua showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Afriz Pieng, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Warer City's Shafiq Phua played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hafriz Siang in the 38th minute of play. Sajeev Ching's late challenge caught a Camden AF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sajeev Ching helped the player get up and apologised. Sajeev Ching hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Shafiq Phua made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hafriz Siang in the 40th minute of play. Shafiq Phua stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lamar Koh's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hafriz Siang to make the kick off.
