After 8 played minutes Albirex Niigata FC got a freekick which was hit by Gencho Ruski. In the 9th minute, Alam Chan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The 苏州觅香足球俱乐部 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 13 minutes into the match, Diego Belém notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of 苏州觅香足球俱乐部's Afiq Hongyi. Afiq Hongyi was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 16th minute, Alam Chan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 24th minute, Amir Pieng left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Albirex Niigata FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. Amir Pieng might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Afiq Hongyi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Amir Pieng ran back to his position shaking his head. Diego Belém could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Afiq Hongyi made a huge save. After a rather tough play, 苏州觅香足球俱乐部's Felix Braddell got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Gerard Hong sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Amir Pieng struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Afiq Hongyi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Albirex Niigata FC. The audience thought a goal was coming when Diego Belém got free with Afiq Hongyi in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 41st minute, Albirex Niigata FC's Hardo Kaarna ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Afiq Hongyi. Afiq Hongyi yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-1. Afiq Hongyi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Diego Belém's shot from short distance in the 47th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Diego Belém to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diego Belém in the 51st minute of play forced 苏州觅香足球俱乐部's goalkeeper Afiq Hongyi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Amir Pieng fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Afiq Hongyi having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aziz Vijiaratnam in the 54th minute of play forced 苏州觅香足球俱乐部's goalkeeper Afiq Hongyi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Albirex Niigata FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Polo Maldini in the 56th minute. In the 56th minute, Amir Pieng hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Amir Pieng had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 苏州觅香足球俱乐部's Afiq Hongyi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diego Belém in the 69th minute of play. 72 minutes into the match, Hardo Kaarna had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Afiq Hongyi. 苏州觅香足球俱乐部's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hardo Kaarna was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1. If Mujahid Vijiaratnam had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 77thth minute of the game Jithu Low who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Albirex Niigata FC's 俞冰帆 was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Afiq Hongyi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Per Gross, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aziz Vijiaratnam in the 80th minute of play forced 苏州觅香足球俱乐部's goalkeeper Afiq Hongyi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Afiq Hongyi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diego Belém in the 82nd minute of the match. Afiq Hongyi came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by Albirex Niigata FC's Diego Belém. But to his dismay, Diego Belém quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-1.
