In the 13th minute, Pilipinas Banaag got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 16th minute, Leroy Barrientos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Regelio Chavez was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 22nd minute, Lee Quibola got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Melvin Garcia hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. If Anton Mangonon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With his leg Marion Garong managed to avoid a goal in the 39thth minute, when Prestwich AFC's Lee Quibola fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Marion Garong showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anton Mangonon in the 40th minute of the match. The supporters of Prestwich AFC booed when San Carlos United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Melvin Garcia didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Prestwich AFC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. San Carlos United were winning 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pilipinas Banaag was the one to do the kick off. Anton Mangonon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marion Garong having to interfere. San Carlos United's Marion Garong played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lee Quibola in the 56th minute of play. In the 57th minute Anton Mangonon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marion Garong saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marion Garong showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lee Quibola, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Prestwich AFC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Pilipinas Banaag 65 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-2. If Lee Quibola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Anton Mangonon's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marion Garong was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. Marion Garong made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anton Mangonon in the 91st minute of play. Prestwich AFC's Bugoy Cabanag got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. San Carlos United walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
