Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Leigh Yamson started the match with the kick off. In the 5th minute, Leigh Yamson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marshall Ruffy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 8 minutes into the game, Leigh Yamson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gainsborough's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Grimsby Town FC the free kick. In the 9th match minute, Gainsborough was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leigh Yamson to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marshall Ruffy in the 11th minute of play forced Gainsborough's goalkeeper Roel Taboyayong to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 17 minutes into the match, Gainsborough's goal looked a bit too open when Marshall Ruffy came free, but Roel Taboyayong reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Roel Taboyayong didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Marshall Ruffy went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. If Marshall Ruffy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gainsborough's goalkeeper Roel Taboyayong, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Adam Allado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Gainsborough defense, Marshall Ruffy kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Roel Taboyayong. The Gainsborough fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Roel Taboyayong should have stopped the shot.

Jacob Tabuyo missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 52 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Dogong Cusi right hand side. If Feliciano Taasan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 61 minutes into the match, Marshall Ruffy had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Roel Taboyayong. Gainsborough's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marshall Ruffy was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-6. 65 minutes into the match, Gainsborough's goalkeeper Roel Taboyayong had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marshall Ruffy. A hard shot 68 in the game by Marshall Ruffy from a close distance when the talented Roel Taboyayong managed to make a qualified save. Gainsborough's players were relieved. Gainsborough's Roel Taboyayong played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adam Allado in the 74th minute of play. In the 77th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gainsborough's goalkeeper Roel Taboyayong, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 78 minutes, Marshall Ruffy managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Grimsby Town FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marshall Ruffy was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 80 played minutes Gainsborough got a freekick which was hit by Leigh Yamson. 83 minutes into the match, Gainsborough's goal looked a bit too open when Adam Allado came free, but Roel Taboyayong reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Grimsby Town FC's Adam Allado was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 85th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. If Marshall Ruffy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marshall Ruffy was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 92nd minute. Grimsby Town FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Roel Taboyayong showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adam Allado in the 93rd minute of the match. After 95 minutes, Bartolome Quiambao mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gainsborough and the Grimsby Town FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. 95 minutes into the game, one of Gainsborough:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty.
