Roel Taboyayong made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Orville Casuga in the 2nd minute of play. When Jacob Tabuyo fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gainsborough's protests and gave Jacob Tabuyo a yellow card for diving instead. Jacob Tabuyo hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. If Josepho Quimque had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Orville Casuga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 36 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Gainsborough! Roel Taboyayong had in the 38thth minute some difficulties stopping Wallace Quinabo's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. If Orville Casuga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Orville Casuga's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Roel Taboyayong was relentless in the 42nd minute of the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bawang Cabili during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Bakewell United's Bawang Cabili got a free kick in the 44th minute. In the 46th minute, Bawang Cabili got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 47th match minute, Bakewell United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Orville Casuga to maneuver through the defense. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

In the 51st minute, Leigh Yamson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Orville Casuga did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-1 to the left of a surprised Roel Taboyayong 52 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Orville Casuga in the 60th minute of play forced Gainsborough's goalkeeper Roel Taboyayong to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 60 minutes, Bartolome Quiambao mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gainsborough and the Bakewell United players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 61st match minute, Gainsborough was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bartolome Quiambao to maneuver through the defense. Roel Taboyayong took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Archie Panaguinto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 70th minute, Josepho Quimque made a precise shot to the right of Roel Taboyayong. Gainsborough's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. In the 79th minute, Bakewell United's Orville Casuga dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-3. Roscoe Emperio came out of the goal in the 84th minute to try and stop a shot by Gainsborough's Jacob Tabuyo. But to his dismay, Jacob Tabuyo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. Gainsborough's Roel Taboyayong proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save Gainsborough from getting a goal against them. When the match was over Bakewell United could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Gainsborough throughout the match.
