The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Aurelius Baradi during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Philippine AZkals's Aurelius Baradi got a free kick in the 19th minute. 22 minutes into the match, Albert Tulabing had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Andrew Mamot. Philippine AZkals's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Albert Tulabing was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. 27 minutes into the match, Philippine AZkals's goal looked a bit too open when Henriqua Deonzon came free, but Andrew Mamot reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Geddington's George Cusi got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 31st minute of the game. One of Philippine AZkals:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Geddington:s goal. Bern Madali received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Bernard Tagasa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

Philippine AZkals's Andrew Mamot proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Philippine AZkals from getting a goal against them. Leonides Sia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aurelius Baradi hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Albert Tulabing during the 66th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 66 played minutes Geddington got a freekick which was hit by Albert Tulabing. Bern Madali sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bern Madali's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bernard Tagasa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. Geddington's Bernard Tagasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonides Sia in the 77th minute of play. In the 81st minute, Albert Tulabing left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Geddington fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. 85 minutes into the match, Geddington's goal looked a bit too open when Bern Madali came free, but Bernard Tagasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Virgil Rubio fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Philippine AZkals's protests and gave Virgil Rubio a yellow card for diving instead.
