Spectators: 6849 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1849, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Marshall Ruffy kicked off to start the match. The audience was convinced that Marshall Ruffy's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Andrew Mamot was relentless in the 6th minute of the game. Adam Allado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Andrew Mamot tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 22 minutes, Marshall Ruffy managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Grimsby Town FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marshall Ruffy was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 25th minute, Adam Allado left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Grimsby Town FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 28th match minute, Philippine AZkals was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leonides Sia to maneuver through the defense. Andrew Mamot made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marshall Ruffy in the 29th minute of play. Jesan Maganto hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Curtis Yase charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Curtis Yase the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After the first half Grimsby Town FC were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Leonides Sia stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Philippine AZkals's Andrew Mamot proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Philippine AZkals from getting a goal against them. If Marshall Ruffy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adam Allado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Andrew Mamot didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Marshall Ruffy went, in the 67th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. Andrew Mamot made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Marshall Ruffy sent off a good shot on target. After 73 played minutes Philippine AZkals got a freekick which was hit by Elmer Congson. Andrew Mamot made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marshall Ruffy in the 74th minute. In the 76th minute, Leonides Sia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Feliciano Taasan might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Andrew Mamot. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Feliciano Taasan ran back to his position shaking his head. Frank Reyes's late challenge caught a Philippine AZkals's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Frank Reyes helped the player get up and apologised. In the 80th match minute, Grimsby Town FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frank Reyes to maneuver through the defense. Jerome Zerrudo's late challenge caught a Grimsby Town FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. In the 93rd minute, Marshall Ruffy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Philippine AZkals's Andrew Mamot played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adam Allado in the 94th minute of play. Andrew Mamot stood somewhat misplaced when Marshall Ruffy came free in front of goal and shot 0-6 to the left of him in the 98 minute. Grimsby Town FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
