Leroy Panaguinto hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. After 47 minutes, Jeronimo Cabanting mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Partington AFC and the Grimsby Town FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Partington AFC's Jeronimo Cabanting got a free kick in the 47th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rammynnos Macapugay to make the kick off. Jerry Agravante showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adam Allado in the 53rd minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marshall Ruffy in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jerry Agravante saved Partington AFC from getting behind. Adam Allado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adam Allado in the 58th minute of play forced Partington AFC's goalkeeper Jerry Agravante to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Adam Allado's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jerry Agravante read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 74th minute of play.
