The penalty shot was made by Feliciano Taasan, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Coleford's Jemson Lawsin. 0-1. When Marshall Ruffy came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Grimsby Town FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marshall Ruffy couldn't finish the play. Jemson Lawsin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adam Allado in the 17th minute of play. Jemson Lawsin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adam Allado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 21st minute Adam Allado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jemson Lawsin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jemson Lawsin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marshall Ruffy's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. Jemson Lawsin came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by Grimsby Town FC's Marshall Ruffy. But to his dismay, Marshall Ruffy quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Marshall Ruffy during the 39th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Christian Cacalda's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 40thth minute, Dogong Cusi skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Dogong Cusi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Casimiro Cabanting went, in the 41st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. After the first half Grimsby Town FC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 77th minute, Adam Allado fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Jemson Lawsin, passed just outside the right post. 79 minutes into the match, Grimsby Town FC's goal looked a bit too open when Christian Cacalda came free, but Dogong Cusi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 87 minutes, Casimiro Cabanting managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Coleford's supporters crossed their fingers, but Casimiro Cabanting was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Horace Canilao's late challenge caught a Coleford's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
