An unexpectedly hard shot by Grover Bucsit in the 8th minute of play forced Gainsborough's goalkeeper Roel Taboyayong to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 11 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Gainsborough! The referee gave Mandaon FC a penalty, 12 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Cristiano Abayari, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Gainsborough's Roel Taboyayong. 0-1. Roel Taboyayong showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oscar Quison in the 16th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Otto Songco managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mandaon FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Otto Songco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roel Taboyayong breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Calvin Nogoy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leigh Yamson in the 18th minute of play. In the 21st minute Otto Songco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roel Taboyayong saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Oscar Quison received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Roel Taboyayong tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Roel Taboyayong showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Otto Songco in the 28th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Oscar Quison's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Roel Taboyayong was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. If Oscar Quison had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Oscar Quison sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 46th match minute, Mandaon FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oscar Quison to maneuver through the defense. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Oscar Quison stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Otto Songco got free with Roel Taboyayong in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bartolome Quiambao hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. After 54th play minutes Oscar Quison shot 0-3, a short shot which went by Roel Taboyayong and just under the crossbar into goal. The supporters of Gainsborough booed when Mandaon FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Homobono Leyson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Oscar Quison sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Roel Taboyayong breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Oscar Quison received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Roel Taboyayong came out and tried to block the shot, but Oscar Quison slotted it home off the left post making it 0-8 in the 96th minute. When the final whistle sounded Mandaon FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Gainsborough.
