Geddington's Natanael Tizon got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Gainsborough's Kokie Parotong got a free kick in the 82nd minute. The audience was convinced that Albert Tulabing's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Roel Taboyayong was relentless in the 88th minute of the game. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Roel Taboyayong prevented the ball from getting in the gole. For all the effort they put into the match, the Gainsborough players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Geddington.
