The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 10th minute Dodi Nakpawan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sasan Lagos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sasan Lagos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dodi Nakpawan, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. After a rather tough play, Canvey Island's Patrick Lagbas got a free kick in the 14th minute. In the 21st minute, Freddy Mellendrez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Patrick Lagbas hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Gabby Narvaez's late challenge caught a Bloomsbury AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gabby Narvaez helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Canvey Island's Gabby Narvaez got a free kick in the 28th minute. Freddy Mellendrez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sasan Lagos having to interfere. Sasan Lagos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ira Banaag in the 35th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dodi Nakpawan in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sasan Lagos saved Canvey Island from getting behind. Ira Banaag could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Sasan Lagos made a huge save. Martin Matibag's late challenge caught a Bloomsbury AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Martin Matibag helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Bloomsbury AFC booed when Canvey Island was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Martin Matibag didn't get a good kick on the ball. Canvey Island's Sasan Lagos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Canvey Island from getting a goal against them. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Dodi Nakpawan made the kick off in the second half. Canvey Island's Sasan Lagos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dodi Nakpawan in the 51st minute of play. If Dodi Nakpawan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 59 minutes into the match, Ira Banaag had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sasan Lagos. Canvey Island's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ira Banaag was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Sasan Lagos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ira Banaag in the 62nd minute of play. Bloomsbury AFC's Dodi Nakpawan got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Canvey Island's Sasan Lagos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ira Banaag in the 66th minute of play. Bloomsbury AFC's Natanael Quengua couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 69th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Canvey Island. After 73 played minutes Bloomsbury AFC got a freekick which was hit by Freddy Mellendrez. Inosram Magalued, 75 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 78 minutes into the match, Canvey Island's goal looked a bit too open when Dodi Nakpawan came free, but Sasan Lagos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sasan Lagos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ira Banaag in the 79th minute of the match. Dodi Nakpawan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sasan Lagos having to interfere. In the 92nd minute, Ira Banaag got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dodi Nakpawan in the 93rd minute of play forced Canvey Island's goalkeeper Sasan Lagos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 96 minutes into the match, Ira Banaag had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sasan Lagos. Canvey Island's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ira Banaag was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Bloomsbury AFC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
