Ninoy Pecson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Romnick Tengco, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. In the 15th match minute, F.C. Cagayan Academy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tol Paulin to maneuver through the defense. Rammynnos Pendang took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 16th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ninoy Pecson. F.C. Cagayan Academy's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 24 minutes into the match, F.C. Cagayan Academy's goal looked a bit too open when Romnick Tengco came free, but Ninoy Pecson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tol Sablon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Luzon Allado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. F.C. Cagayan Academy's Ninoy Pecson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Romnick Tengco in the 29th minute of play. Tondo Ganzon could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Luzon Allado made a huge save. 34 minutes into the game, Romnick Tengco cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Ninoy Pecson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tol Paulin in the 37th minute of play forced General Santos City AFC's goalkeeper Luzon Allado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Inocencio Omaga hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Tol Sablon took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 45th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Luzon Allado. General Santos City AFC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After the first half General Santos City AFC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Romnick Tengco to strike the kick off in the second half. Ninoy Pecson made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Romnick Tengco sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of F.C. Cagayan Academy booed when General Santos City AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kapayas Benitez didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 64th minute of the match, Jay Lorenzo got a very nice opportunity to score, but Ninoy Pecson was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 66 minutes into the match, General Santos City AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Tondo Ganzon came free, but Luzon Allado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched General Santos City AFC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
