Hendrawan Barus ran back to his position shaking his head. Ari Dewa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hendrawan Barus in the 9th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hendrawan Barus in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ari Dewa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sigit Waluyo got free with Ari Dewa in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind PSP Sampojniet's goalkeeper Ari Dewa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Hendrawan Baruss short, quick shot in the 15thth minute got Ari Dewa to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When KINABALU's Hendrawan Barus in the 17th minute got a chance for a shot 17th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Fadhly Hidayat's late challenge caught a PSP Sampojniet's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fadhly Hidayat helped the player get up and apologised. Fadhly Hidayat kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Hendrawan Barus blasted a shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ari Dewa having to make a save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ferry Wibowo during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of KINABALU booed when PSP Sampojniet was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ferry Wibowo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 38thth minute of the game Hendrawan Barus who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but PSP Sampojniet's Ari Dewa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Hendrawan Barus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ari Perangin-angin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hendrawan Barus in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ari Dewa saved PSP Sampojniet from getting behind. In the 52nd minute, Darius Guci hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 54 minutes, Hendrawan Barus made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. PSP Sampojniet's Ari Dewa tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When Hendrawan Barus came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the KINABALU fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hendrawan Barus couldn't finish the play. Jojo Sitorus kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Hendrawan Barus sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 68 minutes, Sigit Waluyo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. KINABALU's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sigit Waluyo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 70 played minutes PSP Sampojniet got a freekick which was hit by Ari Perangin-angin. Hendrawan Barus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ari Dewa having to interfere. After having played for 79 minutes, Hendrawan Barus managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. KINABALU's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hendrawan Barus was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When KINABALU's Hendrawan Barus in the 88th minute got a chance for a shot 88th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. KINABALU's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
