When Bulek Wijaya fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Selangor FC's protests and gave Bulek Wijaya a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Selangor FC getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Bulek Wijaya hit a great ball. Hardy Budikusuma fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elie Cahyono Putro having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hardy Budikusuma in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Elie Cahyono Putro saved Selangor FC from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hardy Budikusuma in the 34th minute of play forced Selangor FC's goalkeeper Elie Cahyono Putro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Hardy Budikusuma kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Elie Cahyono Putro. That made the score 1-0 in the 35 minute of play. After 46 played minutes Selangor FC got a freekick which was hit by Andi Kooth.

Djati Yarman's late challenge caught a April 16's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The Selangor FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Elie Cahyono Putro should have stopped the shot. 70 minutes into the match, Hardy Budikusuma notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Selangor FC's Elie Cahyono Putro. Elie Cahyono Putro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 79th match minute, Selangor FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alejandro Adrio to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of April 16 booed when Selangor FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bulek Wijaya didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 94th minute, Andi Kooth hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
